College advisers change lives and develop skills that will serve them for a lifetime. We look for diverse individuals who are excited to serve underrepresented students and who can work effectively with all types of people. After 4-6 weeks of intensive summer training, advisers receive a salary, full-time WashU health benefits, and an AmeriCorps education award to help pay student loans or graduate school expenses.
The National Adviser Forums and Summit are also perks. Advisers alternate between a larger national conference and a smaller regional conference on a bi-annual basis. For both events, advisers spend one week participating in training workshops, hearing from national speakers, and meeting/networking with advisers from other College Advising Corps chapters across the country.
In 2017, the National Adviser Summit was held in Fort Worth, TX. In 2018-19, the Adviser Forum West was held in Los Angeles, CA, and the Adviser Forum East was held in New York, NY.

In all aspects, this position challenges you and allows you to explore and discover your passions.
